PPAC partners with First Person Arts to host the first-ever event in which photographers, musicians and storytellers use photographs to explore memory, family, stereotypes and culture. The event is inspired by PPAC's current exhibition, Interference, featuring Andre Bradley and Paul Anthony Smith. Their work speaks to the relationships between personal experience and the social forces that shape our perceptions of self, others, and the world around us. Bradley and Smith explore experiences of selfhood and community as inseparable from the stereotypes and violence that pervade representation of black people.
Performing for Interference are Andre Bradley, Jarrett McCreary, Neil Bardhan, Esther Chiang and Joshua Machiz.
