Opening Saturday, May 5th, 6-10pm, Hot•bed presents Wild Americana, featuring works by Emily White. With her wide variety of detailed drawings and sculptures, Whites works flow perfectly with custom horticulture by Bryan Hoffman. Join us and see how we transform our space into a multifaceted organic experience.
About Emily White:
Emily White was born in 1987 in Brockton, MA. White received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA with a focus in sculpture. White has received awards including the Wind Challenge, Fleisher Art Memorial; the Helen Blair Crosbie Sculpture Award, Massachusetts College of Art and Design; and she was nominated for an Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award, International Sculpture Center for two consecutive years. Her artwork has been exhibited in public spaces such as the Entrance Garden of the Philadelphia Flower Show and in the Philadelphia International Airport. White had a solo exhibition at Penn State Altoona (Altoona, PA) and has another in November at View Art Center (Old Forge, NY). Her upcoming exhibitions include A Curious Nature (Philadelphia Art Alliance) and a Wind Challenge Exhibition (Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia PA). Her 2D and 3D work has been in group exhibitions in the US and abroad including shows at The Royal Castle (Warsaw, Poland); City Hall (Philadelphia, PA); Pterodactyl (Philadelphia, PA); Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center (Solomons, MD); and Gallery 263 (Cambridge, MA). White currently has a sculpture on display at Harvard’s Peab
