A pop-up exhibition of works by Florane Cyrelson

Open from 5-9pm on First Friday, June 1st.
Artist Reception: June 2nd from 1-5pm

Florane was raised in a poor neighborhood. Her childhood home had neither books nor art, and a television had not yet become a household item. As a young mother in a difficult marriage, Florane began creating art as a refuge and means of self expression. She allowed herself the joy of creation - to explore, experience, and express "being alive in the world" at that moment. She maintained this concept of art creation as a free and safe space throughout her life. Thus, her works reflect her experiences and feelings without restriction at the various stages in her life - wife, mother, university professor, store owner, attorney, etc. Florane creates with no preconceived idea of what the viewer should see or "get." Rather, her artistic pieces offer her viewers something of beauty and a piece of her soul. You are invited to take refuge in her art, to explore and experience what you see and feel in this moment.
