Our second dual gallery show at James Oliver Gallery and HOT•BED showcases three internationally known artists and their intrigue with color, line, shape and form. Kurt Herrmann's Color Bombs celebrate the freedom and openness of color. Linked to his love for jazz, his use of bold colors and shapes creates a duality of energy, quiet and powerful all at once. Scott Troxel's wall sculptures play with the organic qualities of wood with man-made manipulations of color and design. Explorations of new and recycled materials allow Troxel to fully develop his abstractions, balancing old and new through texture and materials, giving his works a uniquely vintage and modern feel. Stephen D'Onofrio's still life paintings utilizing flat color and repetition of shapes, plays on the mass commodification of art and an interest in the home decor market. His figurative works have an abstracted quality that bring the viewer into a mood, a place, and time, not quite present and not quite past.

Catch MOVING TARGETS and experience these brilliant works alongside custom curated horticulture by Bryan Hoffman at HOT•BED!
