‘There is So Much Wonder to be Had’ will feature a colorful nature-inspired painting installation big enough to immerse yourself in made in collaboration with Allens Lane Art Center. 52 campers came into the studio and made a 10’ x 10’ painting with tools they made in teams and materials they collected during their lunch in the park.
On the opposite wall, a selection of small paintings affectionately referred to as ‘Project Joy Mini’s’ and the materials used to make them will be installed. The interactive component of this part of the exhibit is a game where you can guess what materials were used to make the paintings. There will be pieces of paper you can fill out with your guesses and put in a box. The participants with the correct answers will be entered in a drawing to win a prize at the end of the exhibition!
A selection of paintings made with materials found in nature will also be on display.
Project Joy Studio, led by museum-exhibited artist Jessica Joy London, is focused on making the benefits of the creative process more accessible, especially to those that deny their creative abilities. The processes she has developed to transform viewers into creators will be on full display during this exhibition.
