Homeroom is an emerging Philadelphia-based collective of Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) and Tyler School of Art alumni who began meeting as a monthly critique group - revolving through the PAFA, Crane Arts, Loom and Vox building studios - in 2016 and have recently begun collaborating to seek out curatorial and exhibition opportunities. Members assemble to discuss new work, upcoming projects, and challenge each other’s visual vocabularies before dispersing to work independently, as students disperse from the classroom. A recent show at Spillway Collective, Casual Sequence , was curated by two members of Homeroom , (exhibiting the work of six members), and revolved around signifiers of space; touching on the familiar, digital, imaginative, psychological, and uncanny. Homeroom is excited to present its first comprehensive exhibit of a number of current members’ work at Kitchen Table Gallery, and are pleased to make your acquaintance.
