3-5pm | Office Hours with Asst. Director Nancy Rawson
Nancy Rawson, Associate Director, Monell Center

Nancy’s most recent efforts focus on securing funding for STTR/SBIR projects.

3:15-4:15pm | Dynamic Memory: Ever-changing Connections and Relationships
Unraveling the mystery of memory, neuropsychologist Barbara Malamut, PhD, will talk about how memories are formed, the implications for new learning and shaping new memories. Each emotional experience shapes who we are. Dr. Malamut, who was Patricia Moss-Vreeland’s advisor for her art and science exhibition in 1999, Memory-Connections Matter, Esther Klein Gallery, re-unite. They will discuss what happened during that time that forever changed their own perceptions and ways of thinking.

4:30-5:30pm | We are Multisensory, and Memory is a Multisensory Adventure:
Patricia and Barbara will be joined by Monell olfaction researcher and musician Christopher Maute, in a new collaboration to talk about the many relationships between science and art, and the strong connection between olfaction and memory. The fluid boundary between relationships and memory formation render them inseparable as topics of discussion, positioning this dialogue as an organic extension of Patricia Moss-Vreeland’s exhibit, “In Search of Meaning: Memory Becomes Us”at the Esther Klein Gallery. We’re confident that the relationships we develop through this conversation will foment thought-provoking memories in both the speakers and audience members

5:00-7:30pm | Meet Monell Info/Demo Table with Leslie and Nicole
Chat with Monell's science communications team to learn how the Center's interdisciplinary research on smell and taste seeks to prevent diet-related disease, promote early disease detection, and assure healthy function of these essential senses throughout life. Then stick around for interactive demonstrations designed to reveal how the sense of smell contributes to our unique sensory worlds and personal memories.

5:45-6:30pm | Gallery Tour 1
