Sarah Belle Reid and Ryan Gaston - Another Timepiece

The gallery opening will feature a live performance by the artists, in which electronically augmented trumpet and laptop computer are used to further explore the sound world created by the metal plates.

Sarah Belle Reid is a Canadian performer-composer, specializing in trumpet and electronics, modular synthesis, and alternate forms of graphical notation for composition and improvisation. She is a co-developer of the Minimally Invasive Gesture Sensing Interface (MIGSI) for trumpet, as well as a founding member of the experimental improvisation duo Burnt Dot.

Ryan Gaston (b. 1990) is a performer and composer working primarily in the field of electronic music and electronic/acoustic collaboration. Gaston performs frequently with modular synthesizers, computers, and daxophone, and is a founding member of Burnt Dot and co-developer of the Minimally Invasive Gesture Sensing Interface (MIGSI) for trumpet. Gaston received an MFA in Experimental Sound Practices from the California Institute of the Arts in 2016.
