Bill Brookover - Dissonance

"Dissonance" is a solo exhibition of prints by Bill Brookover. Brookover is a printmaker and photographer using design, texture, and geometric structure to explore architecture, layered landscapes, urban streetscapes, and history. This exhibition promises to address the experience of clashing disorder that pervades politics, social interactions, and culture. Focusing on changes initiated by digital technology, globalized economies, and climate change; Bill Brookover displays the absence of harmony, "Dissonance".

Bill Brookover is a printmaker whose work is based in his design training and the art of architecture. Born in West Texas, he studied Architecture and Fine Arts at Rice University, Historic Preservation at Columbia University, and Printmaking at Fleisher Art Memorial. His prints explore design, color, texture, and geometric structure. Brookover is a teaching artist at Fleisher Art Memorial, a community-based art school in South Philadelphia, where he has taught printmaking since 2010. In 2014 he began leading tours of Hidden Print Collections for Fleisher printmaking students. He serves on the Board of Directors at Fleisher Art Memorial where he chairs the Sanctuary Taskforce. He is a member of Second State Press, The Print Center in Philadelphia, the American Color Print Society, InLiquid, The Main Line Art Center, Philadelphia Center for the Book, and DaVinci Art Alliance.


Da Vinci Art Alliance (DVAA) builds community through art. Founded by 9 Italian immigrant artists in 1931, DVAA has continuously served as a space of creative refuge. DVAA members are a diverse group of creatives of all ages and backgrounds, including award-winning artists whose works are in museums and private collections across the country as well as emerging artists, showing work for their first time.
